2015
A true Friend of Fire through their continued efforts to use, promote and raise awareness of prescribed fire in the State of Oklahoma, along with its continued support of the Oklahoma Prescribed Burn Association

The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation has been a long-time supporter of prescribed fire in the state of Oklahoma and throughout the region. Noble Foundation staff has written and co-authored many articles about prescribed fire and has a web page dedicated solely to the use of prescribed fire. Since the late 1980’s, the Noble Foundations has conducted many workshops and worked with numerous individuals to teach proper planning and implementation of prescribed fire. Additionally, they conduct multiple prescribed fires each year on their research and demonstration properties located in southern Oklahoma where they invite landowners to participate in the burns. The Noble Foundation has been very instrumental in the formation of the Oklahoma Prescribed Burn Association from the beginning. Without the generous support of the Noble Foundation through resources and more importantly, personnel, we, the OPBA would not be where we are today.
